Chabot College - ASCC Marketing Director, 05-06
$10,000 from the general AS fund was allocated (after it was passed in senate) to the spaker series. AS members try , plan, and get really good speakers to speak on a diverse range of topics. Faculty is veryhelpful, they give out extra credit to their students to attend. Topics such as the war, intelligent design, women's history, blsck history, etc., have had a really good turnout. Speakers range from Stanford, Berkely, professors to mayors of cities in the Bay area. A lot of students actually eagerly await the net speaker. It is very educational and a great investment.
The Speaker Series is an ASCC committe, faculty is welcome to participate, but the decision to get whatever speaker rests with ASCC.
