VolunteerismCampus-wide Day of Service - Every fall, SGA-Dallas plans a day of service and invites all students, as well as faculty and staff, to participate. It is fully funded and planned by SGA with the support of the administration. Previous projects have included the North Texas Food Bank, Keep Lewisville Beautiful, Goodwill Industries, and the Salvation Army.
Leadership courses
Leader's Forum Retreat - Each semester, all the student organization leaders are invited to participate in the Leader's Forum Retreat. The event includes a half-day of community service and and a half-day of leadership training and planning. The event is free, fully funded by SGA, and student organizations can receive programming grant funds for their participation.
Campus traditions
Redbud Leadership Awards - The Redbud Leadership Awards have been a TWU tradition since the 1930s. The Dallas Center started their own awards ceremony in 2011 to carry on the tradition for those student not located at the physical main campus. This allows the students, faculty, and staff at the Dallas campus to recognize the outstanding l eaders at their own campus. The event occurs every April, and there is a nomination and selection process throughout the fall and early spring semester.
