Safe Ride Sign-Up

Instructions: Please review the following Rules and Regulations. Then proceed to take the short quiz. After successful completion of the quiz, you will be forwarded to the Safe Ride Request Form.

Safe Ride, a service of the Student Government Association, allows Embry-Riddle students to receive a free ride home when they are in an unsafe situation. I agree to abide by all Safe Ride rules and regulations.

In doing so, I agree to the following:

  • To use the Safe Ride service between the hours of 6pm and 6am on Monday through Friday, and 24 hours on Saturday and Sunday
  • To announce myself to the dispatcher as an Embry-Riddle student in need of a SAFE RIDE and that failure to do so will cause me (the student) to be responsible for the entire cost of the taxi fare
  • To understand that Safe Rides taken from the Embry-Riddle Daytona Beach Campus, outside of an unsafe situation, or taken within non-service hours will result in a flat fee of $8 and an additional $1 for each additional student to the same location
  • To present my Safe Ride card and Eagle ID to the driver before getting into the vehicle
  • Understand that I am representing Embry-Riddle; therefore, I will act in a responsible, considerate manner within the cab as stated in the Honor Code
  • Understand the boundaries of the Safe Ride must be North of Dunlawton Blvd., South of Granada Blvd., and East of I-95. Safe Rides outside of the zones will result in standard metered rates.
  • Understand that abuse of the Safe Ride program will not be tolerated. Abuse will be defined as the following:
    • Using Safe Ride services for free transportation outside of an unsafe situation
    • Using free Safe Rides excessively (four or more times per month) or as a means of regular transportation
  • To accept responsibility of my Safe Ride card. If my Safe Ride card is lost, I will pay a $25 fee to replace the card
  • I am also responsible for all policies and regulations outlined in the Embry-Riddle Student Handbook
  • The Student Government Association and the Safe Ride committee strongly encourage tipping based on the quality of service received

Violation of any of these statements outlined above or violation of any written or verbal communication or sanction regarding the Safe Ride program will result in a Student Court Hearing, potentially resulting in a fine and/or immediate termination of my Safe Ride card.
