STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION

Director of Internal Affairs

Purpose: 

The primary function of the Director of Internal Affairs is to facilitate communication within Student Government, between its branches and divisions, and to disseminate information to the student body in an overall attempt to better relations with various SGA publics.

Details:

1. Appointed - appointee will serve a one-year term parallel to the appointing administration
2. Approved - appointee will be approved by a majority vote of the SRB/SFB
3. Compensation - appointee will receive a 10% tuition voucher
4. Structure - appointee will report to the SGA President and Executive Board

Job Description:

1. Facilitate communications with/between:
a. Student Government (Branches and Divisions)
b. Student Body
c. Campus community
2. Be responsible for Blackboard
a. Develop, implement and maintain internal communication resources
b. Manage the Daytona Beach Student Community in Blackboard
c. Post minutes and other important documents
3. Chair the SRB Communications Committee
a. Solicit weekly reports from branches and divisions
b. Prepare and distribute a bi-weekly newsletter describing SGA activities
4. Serve as a non-voting member of the Executive Board
5. Work collaboratively with Director of External Affairs to achieve PR goals
6. Any additional responsibilities necessary to fulfill primary objectives

Memorandum of understanding:

This is a temporary position established by the Executive Board for the duration of the 2004-2005 academic year.  Failure to fulfill responsibilities as outlined above will result in termination at the discretion of the SGA President and Executive Board.
