Description:Bakersfield College's Student Government Association encourages student involvement on and off-campus. Among the many ways students can be involved within the campus and community are through various clubs and organizations. Below are the active campus clubs.

 

African American Student Union

Agriculture Club
Advisor: Lindsay Ono
About: Agriculture Club forms a club of Bakersfield College students who are interested in agriculture and promote agriculture at Bakersfield College and in the community.
 
Architecture Club
Advisor: Duane Anderson
About: The purpose of the Architecture Club shall be to organize architecture students and combine their efforts to advance the science and art of architecture, to promote excellence in architectural education, training, and practice, and to foster an appreciation of architecture and related disciplines among all persons.
 
Bake This!
Advisor: Suzanne Davis
About: In support of the current culinary program we will expand on the foundations of sugar work, chocolateiering, cake decorating, bread making, and all aspects that will enhance the baking experience and provide us for what is to come in the professional culinary world.

Colleges Against Cancer

About: The Colleges Against Cancer Club's main purpose is advocating cancer awareness, bringing cancer control within the community, volunteering at the local Relay For Life event, and celebrating survivorship of cancer patients.

Future Teachers Club

About: The purpose of the Bakersfield College Future Teachers Club shall be to provide opportunities for students to explore teaching as a career. Another purpose shall be to provide a supportive atmosphere for students as they work toward their goal to become teachers. Emphasis will be placed on networking with current and future teachers in Bakersfield and the surrounding communities.

Hispanic Organization Promoting Engineering & Science

About: H.O.P.E.S. promotes the advancement of Latino students with a focus on Engineering and Science, not excluding any other interested parties.

Intervarsity Christian Fellowship

About: Intervarsity Christian Fellowship aims to establish a witnessing Christian community on campus for all students to investigate the devine person of Jesus Christ.

Pre-Med Club

About: The purpose of the Pre-Med Club is to bring together and organize students who are planning on entering the health field on the professional level. This would include though not excluding those individuals who are planning on matriculating at a four-year institution and from that point on to do graduate work to achieve a degree or certificate in the following areas: Medical Doctor, Doctor of Dental Surgery, Doctor of Pharmacy, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine, Physical Therapy, Physicians Assistant, Sports Medicine, Dental Hygienist, Radiology Technician, Psychology, and Nursing.

Transfer Club

About: The development of the Transfer Club is to educate, inform and equip students with the tools needed to transfer to four-year institutions whether it be private or public. The Transfer club is aimed at increasing, informing, and promoting more students to further their education, while taking for granted the various social and ecological issues that may hinder or prevent students from becoming successful.
