  • How can I balance school work and duties and still be effective? (1 of 3 answers)

I am haven't been in this government thing for a long time. This is my third year in Student Government and I am not feeling as effective as I could be. I am having problems with planning and organization, which I know are key to the success of any organization. For example, I am having problems pulling together a cabinet. I wanted to change the structure of the cabnet, because it had not been effective in past years, and I wanted to ensure that this year would be different, but I didn't know how to change it. So I have kind of put it off. For me I know that tomorrow I will be introducing myself to the incoming freshman in the fall, even though it is not until August. I would like to sit down and write out a plan of action, but it seems like one I don't have enough time, or two when I do have the time I can't think about what I want to do. How can I balance my school work and my organizational duties and still be effective?

I'm starting to feel stressed and this is only the beginning of my term. What do you suggest I do?

  • How can we use "White Boards" to organize our SGA?

I attended the advisors conference in Miami not too long ago and during one of your lectures you referenced the effectiveness white boards can have on your SGA. Would you be able to provide us with an example/picture of a well organized/effective white board?
