Does having a Multicultural Student Government help with inclusion?

The student senate here has had some issues with inclusion and last year the Multicultural Student government tried to become an equal and separate governing body, what are your thoughts and concerns on this?

We are a private, Christian university but it is not a requirement to be a Christian to attend our university. With that in mind, we have a growing population of Asian and Muslim students who do not hold the same beliefs but are seeking equal representation. As the student association our mission states that we are here to "promote a maturing and active committment to Jesus Christ...". And our mission has been approved and chartered by the Board of Governors. However, out tradition tends to be more of a spirit of advocating for all students regardless of religious affiliation or social views. So how is our SA supposed to advocate for all students while maintiaining our mission? Some examples come in to providing opportunities for glbt students, other religious groups, and even social groups such as pro-life and pro-choice groups. (The latter can't be defined as "more Christian" than another).

What office do the cheerleaders fall under?

I have a question my university recently reinstated the cheerleaders, however it has been over 20 years since we havecheerleaders and we are not aware in which umbrella the cheerleaders fall under. SGA has been funding them and treating them like an organization. However, athletics are the one's that give them restriction. Are they considered under athletics.

Basically my question is where do the cheerleaders fall under, athletics or Student Government?
Why is there a divide between SGA and the student body?

What explains the divide between students in an SGA and those that do not take part in one? For instance, what could you say to a student that was totally uninterested in his/her university's SGA in order to make them understand it better?
