Embry-Riddle offers its students a wide array of more than 70 undergraduate and graduate degree programs in aviation, aerospace, business, engineering, safety, security and intelligence, transportation, and related high-tech fields.
In just the last few years, the University launched its first Ph.D. degree programs, in Aerospace Engineering, Aviation, Engineering Physics, Human Factors, and Mechanical Engineering. The Aviation doctorate is the first of its kind in the nation. The four other doctoral degrees are the pinnacle of bachelor’s and master’s degrees in those same subjects. Embry-Riddle’s Aerospace Engineering program is the largest of its kind in the nation.
These new Ph.D. programs expand the applied research opportunities in which Embry-Riddle faculty and students assist the aviation/aerospace industry, government agencies, and others in meeting real-world challenges. Frequent research partners include the FAA, NASA, the National Science Foundation, and the U.S. Air Force.
U.S. News & World Report ranks Embry-Riddle No. 1 in Undergraduate Aerospace Engineering and among the Top Online Educators in the Nation, Best Universities in the South, and Best Colleges for Veterans in the South. Military Times, Military Advanced Education, and G.I. Jobs publications also name Embry-Riddle a top school for active-duty military and veterans. The College Choice publication ranks Embry-Riddle’s Worldwide Campus No. 1 in the nation for online education and that campus has received Exemplary Course Awards from Blackboard. The Prescott Campus ranks in the top 1 percent of all U.S. private colleges for return on investment, according to Affordable Colleges Online.
The Daytona Beach and Prescott campuses host championship athletic teams that are winners both in sports and in the classroom.
Prescott Campus The university’s mile-high, 539-acre western campus is located in Prescott, Arizona. Extensive recreational facilities and opportunities in and near the campus include mountain biking, kayaking, skiing, and snowboarding.
The campus is home to the Aerospace Experimentation & Fabrication Building; the nation’s largest university-based Accident Investigation Lab; and the world’s first College of Security & Intelligence, which offers bachelor’s degree programs in Cyber Intelligence & Security, Forensic Biology, and Global Security & Intelligence Studies as well as a master’s degree in Security & Intelligence Studies. New buildings include Academic Complex II and a residence hall.
The College of Aviation offers degrees for professional pilots with fixed-wing and rotary-wing options. Student flight teams have won numerous national championships in NIFA SAFECON competitions, more than any other institution in the last decade, and rank highly in the women’s Air Race Classic. A new bachelor’s degree in Global Business supports the Phi Beta Lambda student team, which has won several Future Business Leaders of America state championships. |
