Percentage of Women in SG (raw data) This is the "raw data" gathered from ASGA's "SG Database" on the percentage of women serving in collegiate student governments nationwide. The data is from 2003 to 2011.
ASGA gathers information on officers and members from every college and university in the nation. Not all institutions provide current information at their web sites, however, and about 1,100 of the 5,000 institutions are currently ASGA members. ASGA employs seven in-house searchers who spend upwards of 16,000 hours a year gathering and maintaining the SG Database. The data assembled is by far the deepest in breadth and accuracy that has ever been gathered on this subject in the history of American higher-education. Issue: Student Leader - Web-Only Category: Structure of SGs
The American Student Government Association will provide all Student Government leaders and advisors nationwide with networking, research, and information resources and will teach them how to become more effective, ethical, and influential leaders on their campuses. ASGA also will promote the advancement of SGs, conduct research as the nation’s only “SG Think Tank,” and advocate the importance of having a vibrant, autonomous Student Government organization at every institution in America.
